Yellowstone Historic Museum

Situated in the historic Union Pacific Depot at West Yellowstone, Montana, this museum is set amid other steam-era facilities that include a water tower, oil house, and crew dormitory. The museum showcases the history of visitation and transportation to Yellowstone, the first national park in the United States.

The museum contains exhibits on the human and natural history of the Yellowstone region. One notable exhibit contains information on the stage coach and railroad companies transported tens of thousands of visitors to the region, and how those early visitors experienced their new national park. Others displays include exhibits on the wildlife of the area, and the 'Fires of 88.'
