The scenic byway begins in Dubois, Wyoming and proceeds west on U.S. Highway 26/287.
At Moran Junction, the byway proceeds south on U.S. Highway 191/26/89 through Jackson, WY.
At Hoback Junction, the byway veers southeast on U.S. Highway 189/191 and ends in Pinedale, WY.
