Historic Downtown Red Lodge

Downtown Red Lodge is a largely intact 115 year old community with numerous classic brick buildings that are listed on the National Register. The downtown itself is also a National Historic District.

The core of a lively and largely unspoiled town, it sits in a valley between two distinct benches at the base of the Beartooth Mountains. The resilience of the space as the heart of a remote town is awesome.

Buildings utilized by Buffalo Bill Cody and Calamity Jane, sheltering bordellos and coal barons, enjoyed later by rodeo hero Turk Greenough and his wife, former fan dancer, Sally Rand, and more recently tourists from all over the world are cherished by the community.
